The bridal suite serves as a very important part of your wedding day. It is not only the place where you will get ready and relax before your wedding, but where you will physically and mentally prepare for the life long commitment that you are about to make with your partner. It is a place that will be filled with laughter, love, and maybe even a few happy tears. Before the day begins, you want to fill your bridal suite with necessities for both you and your bridal party so you are prepared for any and all situations.
Hanger Or Clear Hooks
One of the first things you should do when you get to your bridal suite is hang up your wedding dress. Of course you want it to be photographed! Find an area in the room that has some good lighting and display it nicely for your photographer. Bring a few extras as well so that your bridesmaids dresses can go along right aside to your dress. Clear temporary hooks are also a good idea because they leave behind no damage and aren’t visible in the pictures that you take.
Accessories and Details
Small details and accessories can help tell the story of your wedding. You want to be able to look back at your wedding gallery years later and remember those minor details that helped complete your day. Things like your jewelry, rings, invitations, bouquet, shoes, perfume, veil, and other items should be brought for your photographer.
Snacks
It is going to be a long day, and a while before you will get to eat your meal at your reception, so it is a good idea to bring light snacks with you to your bridal suite. Try to make sure that they aren’t too filling or messy! Things like fruit platters, small sandwiches, chips, or granola bars should do the job. You should also make sure that you are hydrated throughout the day. Whatever you are drinking, try to make sure that it is lightly colored to prevent any accidental stains or mess.
Robes
To avoid any stains, spills, or tears, you want to make sure that you wait till right before your ceremony to put on your dress. While you are relaxing and getting ready, you want to make sure that you are comfortable and able to move around easily. Try to avoid robes that slip over your head so that you can prevent smudges to your makeup or a mess up to your hairstyle. Use the ones that tie to the front or button up!
An Emergency Kit
Accidents happen, unexpected situations occur and you should be prepared for any unexpected disasters with an emergency kit. Your kit should include items such as safety pins, a sewing kit, a tide pen, tweezers, bobby pins, scissors, hair ties, makeup wipes, feminine products. You should also include medication like benadryl or tylenol, you never know when allergies or a headache will occur!
Music
Music can help set the mood for any situation. Bring a speaker and some tunes to shake out those pre wedding jitters. Have some fun jams to listen to as you and your bridesmaids get ready together.
Chargers & Power Strips
Prior to your wedding day you should check with your venue to see how many charging outlets are in the bridal suite. When you and your bridal party are getting ready, you’re going to need several outlets for your phone chargers, flat irons, hair dryers, and any other things that you’re going to need to plug in.
Comfortable Shoes
While you are getting ready for your wedding you want to be as comfortable as possible, which is why you should bring comfortable shoes to wear. You can bring slides, flats, slippers, even a pair of comfortable sneakers! You want to wait as long as possible before you have to put your heels on. You can even change your shoes after your ceremony while you are dancing the night away.
Lint Free Tissues
It is more than likely that you will shed some tears on your wedding day, so having tissues is a necessity. Lint free tissues will ensure that when you wipe your tears that no debris will be left behind on your face.
