Even though it is your big day, it is very important to recognize and thank your guests for coming to your wedding. The way you welcome guests can leave a lasting impression on them, and can help them dictate how they remember your day long after it’s over. There are many different and great ideas that you can use for your day to make your guests feel welcomed and valued, below are a few of our favorites!
Refreshments
One way for you to welcome your guests to your wedding day is to have refreshments present when they arrive. If it is a hot day, have some ice cold lemonade or iced tea at a drink station for everyone to easily grab. In the colder weather, you can have hot tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. Your guests will be appreciative of the refreshment station.
Favors
You don’t have to wait till the end of your wedding before you begin handing out wedding favors. You can hand favors out upon arrival, especially if they can be useful during your event. For outdoor events you can hand out personalized paper fans and sunglasses, and in cooler weather you can hand out warm cozy blankets. Some couples even give out flip flops for the ladies to take for later in the evening.
Live Music
While your guests are arriving, have live music playing. You can hire a band to play different types of music from classical music or jazz. Kicking off the day with great music can set the mood for the whole day.
Apps
Food can win over anyone’s heart, so it is no surprise that delicious appetizers will satisfy your guests until the main course later in the evening.
Welcome Gifts
Welcome boxes are a great way to help your guests feel appreciated. If you have a large guest count this may not be ideal, but for smaller intimate or destination weddings this is perfect. Put together some local treats and a welcome note with a bunch of other small favors and the guests will love it!
Photobooth
Having a photobooth at your entrance is a great way for your guests to jump right into the fun! Have a backdrop that matches with your wedding aesthetic and make sure that you have some fun props for your guests.
Games
Everyone loves a good competition! Having lawn games (like cornhole for example) can be a fun way to get your guests comfortable with the crowd around them. This will keep your guests up and moving.
