How They Met
The story of Grace & Roberto’s meeting started with a New Years Resolution. Grace had two resolutions, one was to climb the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro & the other was to get back into playing her classical guitar, something she hadn’t done for nearly 30 years. She had wanted to learn a specific classical arrangement, and as she researched the piece, she came across Roberto’s name. It turns out he had arranged the score for guitar on that particular piece. So began her pursuit of Roberto as her guitar teacher, but it wasn’t easy. Roberto was busy traveling and touring, and despite her wishes, he declined her request to teach her three times. However, Grace persisted, and finally, Roberto agreed.
Thus began Grace & Roberto’s virtual relationship. Roberto was in Italy, and Grace was here in the states, so he taught her over Skype. Over the next few of months, Roberto quickly became impressed, not only with Grace’s abilities on the guitar but also with Grace. So eventually he invited her to come and visit him in Italy. The moment Grace was leaving to head back to the states, they both knew then that their relationship had blossomed into something special. At the airport, Roberto showed Grace a ring that was sentimental to him. He told her that he always wore this ring when playing his most difficult guitar pieces, and now he wanted her to have it.
How They Asked
Fast forward to June, and Grace was ready to tackle her second resolution of climbing to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. It was a challenging climb, but she made it to the summit wearing the ring that Roberto had given her. At the summit of Kilimanjaro, Grace decided to film a short video clip where she proposed to Roberto, and asked him to marry her! Just a few months after that, Roberto moved to the states in October, and the two were finally together, in person.
Grace & Roberto were married at The Ospreys in front of their closest family and friends on September 16th, 2020. Congrats to the happy couple!
