We met through the dating app, Bumble, in February of 2018. Our first date was at a Spanish tapas bar. Bryan first impressed me by taking the initiative in ordering Sangria and the perfect selection of appetizers before I had even arrived. I first impressed Bryan when I ordered my dinner in perfect Spanish. By the fourth date, we decided to make our relationship exclusive. From Caribbean cruise ships to the mountains of Chile, we find adventure and fun everywhere we go. We live together now with our cat, Pepe, and are so excited for this next adventure of married life.
Bryan popped the question on July 4th, 2020, on the rooftop of our Crystal City Apartment. It was a real firework moment!
Our story is a real “COVID proposal.” Bryan had initially planned to pick up the ring he ordered in late February and pop the question in May on a trip we had planned to Europe. But when COVID hit, our plans came to a screeching halt. Unfortunately, our flights were canceled, and the ring was stuck at the jeweler because they had closed. Despite these significant setbacks, Bryan prevailed. Ultimately he asked his future mother and father in law for their blessing, “Love, Actually” style. Bryan then had the jewelry shop manager come in while they were still closed to finally get the ring made. Then the magical day he proposed was on the Fourth of July on the roof of our building during the fireworks with his mom filming to capture it all. Everything worked out!
Special thanks to Bryan & Julia for sharing their unique proposal story with us. We look forward to celebrating their love here at The Ospreys in May!
